About me

Hi I'm Rachael, I am licensed by the DVSA to give driving tuition and I am passionate about road safety.

I became a driving instructor because I wanted a job with real satisfaction and there is nothing better than seeing someone pass their test first time. I was also always being told by friends and work colleagues that I was a calm and relaxed type of person and that I would make a great Driving Instructor.

To tell you a little bit more about myself, I previously worked as a biology lecturer in further Education, I have been in education for about 20 years, the job changed a lot over those years and although I loved teaching, I found the focus of my job changed into something it hadn’t resembled when I first started. I wanted to take on a new career direction that still enabled me to fulfil the most enjoyable parts of my previous job which was teaching and working with people, whilst having the support of a larger organisation, which shared the same educational values as myself, but also allowed me the freedom to make my own decisions.

I live in Stockport with my Portuguese partner Manuel, and my two daughters Holly and Daisy. We share our home with our beloved dogs, Loki and Oscar, and our cats, Chase, Chester and Treacle.

My interests are nature, obviously being a biologist; I particularly love animals of all types (except spiders). I enjoy country walks with our dogs. Our family loves food, cooking and eating, we love to sit around our table eating, chatting and laughing, we often have our friends and family around to help us, we also love to travel, we often visit Portugal and love exploring the country.

Lessons are always conducted in a calm, friendly and relaxed manner as I firmly believe in making pupils feel at ease during lessons.
